The game Homecoming is based on, Morenatsu, is considered to be one of the classic entries in furry culture. Although it was canceled in 2015, dedicated fans have continued to keep its legacy alive through fanworks such as this. While rough around the edges, the original game captured many hearts, including the members of the Stormsinger Studios development team. Stormsinger is aiming to create the best visual novel they can make: addressing and changing questionable aspects of the original while doing justice to the source material that has inspired so many.
