The higher end ships can equip exotic weapon types, and even have an energy shield by default. Every player ship has specific hardpoints which you can equip with different weapons. Each hardpoint it’s in a few energy classes, which determine how big of a weapon you can equip there. The game will face you with many types of both the basic enemies, and their mini-boss variants, and at the end of each major story Act you will engage one of the major bosses. Every enemy type have different attack type, some slower, some faster, and maybe even attacks with a status element!
